Wild bird and animal portraits

Welcome to my world …

A world of birds and animals, even in the city!

I am a wildlife artist living in Toronto, Canada. I make portraits using coloured pencil and other media. For me, art is a way to connect with other species.

It begins long before I put pencil to paper. Most days, I spend time in a ravine, watching birds, taking notes and photos. These references keep me true to my subject.

My goal with each portrait is to show the vitality of another being — its real presence — and to communicate something of my love for the natural world.

A woman is sitting with one knee raised, looking at the camera and smiling. In the background are trees and low shrubs.
Two brown and orange rabbits, drawn in a realist style against a blurred background of yellow and grey plants.
